This week a rightwing group calling itself Pigpen Project—you literally can’t make this stuff up—voluntarily dismissed its three lawsuits filed in late September seeking to remove approximately 30,000 voters from Nevada’s rolls before the November election.
The Pigpen punks caved on this latest attempt, among many since July, to subvert Nevada’s election process for several reasons. First, because it was yet another in a string of hapless, bogus lawsuits filed in the Silver State—a Republican-targeted swing state—and second, because they couldn’t win and damn well knew it. More on that in a moment.
As many MAGA manipulators are currently being informed by judges across the country, voter challenges cannot be processed within 90 days of an election per the National Voter Registration Act. But when did these corrupt cockwombles ever let a little thing like federal law stop them?
Pigpen Project’s latest lawsuit demanded that election officials in Carson City, Clark County, Storey County, and Washoe County process 30,000 voter challenges weeks before the election, then claimed local election officials violated state law when counties failed to process those challenges. This despite the fact that Pigpen itself, not surprisingly, failed to meet state requirements when submitting its nonsensical arguments.
But here’s why they ultimately knew they couldn’t win. We may not have aliens headquartered at Valley of Fire to help fight for our democracy in Nevada like we do in my Other Worldly novels, but we do have the Elias Law Group of Washington, DC, headed by super lawyer Marc Elias, going to battle for us in the Battle Born state. Here’s what ELG’s online newsletter Democracy Docket had to say about this latest Nevada nuisance:
“We call these the Pigpen cases. Really we do. Not because of the beloved Peanuts character, but because a group using that moniker was behind a trio of lawsuits suing four Nevada counties for refusing to process voter challenges submitted by the rightwing group. The counties correctly rejected these mass challenges by relying on guidance from the Nevada secretary of state requiring voter challenges to have personal knowledge of the facts supporting their challenge of another voter’s eligibility. Days after my law firm intervened to opposed these efforts, the plaintiffs dropped their lawsuits. Sometimes the sweetest victories are the fights you avoid.”
It only took days for Pigpen to fold once Marc Elias entered the picture. And I posit that not only do folks behind the Pigpen Project not possess any worthwhile knowledge whatsoever, they have no actual facts regarding Nevada voters because they don’t deal in facts. Which is precisely what makes their lawsuits frivolous.
But they do know this: Once ELG got involved, their ridiculous Pigpen Project, in which Republicans were projecting yet another one of their blatant attempts to screw with Nevada votes onto Democrats, was going straight down the toilet like the excrement it is.
These corrupt and corrosive rightwing operatives working to destroy democracy in Nevada and throughout the US don’t belong in a pigpen, because nonhuman pigs are far more intelligent and clean than they are, judging by their muddied, muddled machinations alone.
It’s actually the big pen, as in penitentiary, where the Pigpen Project punks belong, along with indicted fake electors of Nevada that include NV Republican Party ringleaders who continue to try to muck up yet another election any which way their corruption can.
So thanks, Marc Elias and the Elias Law Group. This Nevada voter greatly appreciates your efforts as in-person voting gets underway here today. I’ll be voting in person in Clark County this week for Harris/Walz, Senator Jacky Rosen, and blue all the way down ballot.
Democracy is at stake, and Yes We Kam win!
