Contrary to what many on both sides are unfortunately bemoaning, yesterday was a great day. Because what makes America great is justice, and yesterday, which should now be known as May 34 or the Rule of Law day, justice prevailed.
At long last, we had proof that our judiciary system and legal processes would and could hold, at a time when many are deliberately aiding our democratic republic to fail, including a judge named Cannon and the complicit SCOTUS chief justice and his Christofascist cohorts.
Yesterday we could rejoice in the reality of a judge exhibiting an actual professional demeanor, wise jurisprudence, and admirable traits of a decent human being. Imagine that.
Yesterday we could appreciate twelve ordinary citizens of New York taking their role seriously and with judicious, reasoned focus. Twelve people who, unlike many pundits, media personnel, and supporters of the now convicted criminal, were able to refrain from making this trial all about themselves.
Yesterday was not a somber or sad day. What would have been somber, sad, and an outright atrocity is continuing to fail to hold accountable a traitor to our nation. Indeed, perhaps the greatest threat the US has ever known.
Because yesterday’s verdict of 35 felony counts for 45 with 54 counts yet to be adjudicated shows us that the 2016 election was blatantly problematic and circumspect, just as the justices who were appointed as a result of that corrupted election are and continue to be.
But this didn’t start in 2016 or the injustices that resulted from it. This goes all the way back to the presidential election of 2000, wherein we the people didn’t actually elect the president. That year, George W. Bush was appointed president by Antonin Scalia of SCOTUS because the Florida Secretary of State made sure Florida would go for Bush by any means necessary, including disenfranchising black voters. A man named John Roberts who would go on to become chief justice was one of the individuals who worked to make that possible.
George W. Bush appointed Samuel Alito to SCOTUS, a justice who was teed up to play the Scalia role on January 6, 2020. Thanks to Nancy Pelosi, he didn’t get the chance, this man who wants to control all women because he is apparently fully under the thumb of his extremist wife, along with his partner in judicial and grifting crime, Clarence Thomas.
Perhaps if more Americans listened to women like those twelve New York jurors listened to Stormy Daniels, instead of weak men in positions of power being controlled by their vitriolic wives, we would not be in such a mess.
But yesterday was not a bad day for America and did not undermine the public’s faith in our judicial system—as foreign fascist idiot agitator Elon Musk tweeted. On the contrary, I woke up this morning with my faith somewhat restored.
I might even be able to one day display an American flag at my house again. Of course, I would fly it the correct, respectful, lawful way, unlike Samuel Alito and rabidly stupid Republican members of Congress.
It’s been a good week indeed, because on Tuesday I voted early in the Nevada primary. I and others will not be stopped by ridiculous frivolous lawsuits brought by Nevada Republicans who should be in jail for their attempts to overthrow the 2020 election instead of being free to try to screw yet again with my vote in 2024.
It’s time our judicial system held all of those accountable for their 2016, 2020, and 2000 election crimes, and we must all now honor the dedication showed by those twelve jury members and vote in November like it could be our last election. Because six members of SCOTUS and Republican members of Congress would like it be.
May the rule of law continue to prevail against all enemies, foreign and domestic. Four more years for Biden, and four more trials plus at least four years in prison for the convicted felon would be a good start.
