My hometown is Arlington, Virginia. What happened there this week hit me harder than even I expected. Like a sustained gut punch, made more intensely horrific by degenerate excuses for human beings defending it with insidious and inane Fox News-spewed talking points.
No, a family of a fallen military member is not entitled to invite a former president to break the rules of Arlington National Cemetery or federal law related to those rules.
No, Biden is not responsible for the war in Afghanistan. As if that had anything to do with what Trump did at Section 60 in Arlington National Cemetery.
We now know it was an attempt to stage a fake official memorial service and then attack Vice President Kamala Harris for not showing up. They have no bottom, these bottom feeders. They have no human decency, integrity, or humanity.
They have no self-awareness, mired as they are in hubris as they gloat about their own idiocy.
A female staff member at Arlington National Cemetery, true to the MAGA playbook, was verbally and physically assaulted for trying to enforce Cemetery rules and laws. Followed by a Trump misogynist thug claiming that she is mentally ill.
Of course. The same old vile crap. Because no woman is ever supposed to tell these despicable men no. They don’t respect no. They don’t respect women. They don’t respect combat veterans of any gender or ethnicity.
The Trump/Vance ticket is all about disrespect, and hate.
As a child growing up in Arlington, I went on elementary school field trips to the National Cemetery, including observing the solemn Old Guard ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. At ten years old, I knew enough to respect the dignity of this sacred, hallowed place. But Trump never will, nor will his henchmen and his MAGA cult members.
Nor will, unfortunately the families who haplessly and/or heinously invited Trump to make a spectacle at Arlington National Cemetery. Nor will Speaker Mike Johnson who went out his way to convince wary Pentagon officials to let it happen. What a pathetic little hypocritical toad of a bootlicking sycophant he is.
A political commercial on TikTok, no less, was the result of Trump’s latest atrocity. In direct, blatant, and celebratory violation of federal law. By a convicted felon awaiting sentencing and currently out on bond for other criminal indictments. Followed by his utter depravity in suggesting it was the fault of Democrats, Gold Star families, or anyone but his own vile, despicable self.
Anyone else breaking federal law for publicity, no less, would be hauled into court, have their bail revoked, and be thrown in jail to await trial and/or sentencing. Anyone else doing what Trump did at Arlington National Cemetery would have been arrested. Period.
The US Army was correct to put out a statement condemning his actions and supporting the female employee who was subject to vile defamation. The US Army, however, is completely wrong and unfortunately now disgustingly complicit by failing to follow through with pressing charges against Trump and his henchmen.
The female staff member at Arlington National Cemetery declined to press charges because she fears retaliation by an ex-president of the United States and his juvenile yet dangerous bullies. She was already verbally and physically assaulted as well as defamed by them, so it’s not surprising. But it should be of grave concern that this is seemingly not taken seriously enough by the US Army or those responsible for enforcing federal law.
How many more times will a woman fearing for her safety and her reputation be swept under the proverbial rug so that the patriarchy can save face? How many more crimes must Donald Trump commit in full view of the free world before he is held accountable?
What will it take to get jerks like a guy I knew 47 years ago in high school, who himself served in the Army, to stop defending an outright traitor? His comments on Facebook merely a resuscitation of what he heard on Fox News; his only argument to repeat back what Democrats have said about Republicans. As if it’s not MAGA idiots who willfully ignore facts and reason as a chosen way of life.
A ridiculous, hateful idiot who thinks that because he has relatives buried in Arlington Cemetery, he is somehow entitled to ridicule Biden, Harris and any other Democrat he dislikes in favor of a traitor who dishonored the graves of his supposed relatives—at this point why would anyone take a MAGA duped fool’s word about anything?
I have loved ones buried at Arlington National Cemetery. But I’m not a MAGA moron who thinks that claiming a lack of knowledge of any law is a valid excuse for breaking it by an ex-president and convicted felon.
It’s tiresome, disheartening, enraging, and disgusting, the never-ending crap that spews from these domestic enemies. Because that is what they are. And I’m sick of those who expect us to continue coddling these cretins, to try to “understand” them and their point of view.
Bigotry is not a point of view. Racism is not a point of view. Misogyny is not a point of view. Hatred is not a point of view. Immaturity is not a point of view. And none of these things are “political” issues, any more than disrespecting and violating the rules of Arlington National Cemetery was.
Imagine how utterly bereft of a clue or conscience one must be to support and defend a man who cannot even conduct himself with decorum and dignity in a place honoring those who served our nation with valor.
Veterans who honor the oath they took and who don’t support a traitor are asking that this issue not get buried, no pun intended. They are demanding an investigation and action taken against Trump and his two lying, defaming, demoralized thugs, Steven Cheung and Chris LaCivita. I fully support them, and the endeavor to obtain retribution against these domestic enemies.
One more thing. Those capable of staging this atrocity at Arlington National Cemetery are fully capable of having staged a fake assassination attempt, because they certainly wouldn’t be concerned about lives lost or damage done. And isn’t it odd how the media isn’t demanding answers to so very many questions about both political stunts pursued by a desperate madman?
