Sick Hypocrisy of Lying, So-Called Christian Gun Mongers

In my upcoming novel, Aliens Watch, protagonist Rowan Layne asks, “Why do these hypocritical cretins claim concern for children when they won’t lift a finger to prevent them from being gunned down at school?”

Rowan refers to a woman who brandishes an AR-15 to kill an alien “lake monster” of her own fabrication, claiming that the monster will hurt local children. But it’s her own violent, selfish means to advance her political career that presents a threat to all citizens.

Sound familiar? Because we have far too many dangerous, real-life human monsters running amok—and running for office—in the US.

Aliens Watch is the seventh novel in my Other Worldly series, but it is by no means the first to address hypocritical gun mongers, including those who also claim to be religiously devout.

The kind of fascist Christian Nationalists who demand the Ten Commandments derived of their version of a bible be posted in public schools. Funny, though not at all comical, how one of those commandments is thou shall not kill.

The kind of sick twisted human beings like those in Congress who wear AR-15 pins instead of flag pins on their lapels. They also proudly send out family Christmas photos of themselves and their children brandishing said weapons.

The kind of depravity wherein a crass ignorant imbecile like Marjorie Taylor Green gains fame and fortune by verbally abusing and harassing a teenage survivor of a school shooting. She’s actually proud of it while she boasts of her biblical leanings and posts photos on social media of herself ‘reading” a bible with various Christian crosses displayed on a wall behind her.

MTG and her horrific ilk are the very definition of heinous hypocrisy.

This week yet another school shooting, in her state of Georgia, where gun laws are some of the most permissive, making it unsafe for children and all other living things.

A senseless high school massacre, after which the current Republican vice presidential candidate JD Vance claimed, as he stood behind bullet-resistant glass to give his pompous pontificating speech, that school shootings are a “fact of life.” Yet he offers nothing to address the problem.

It doesn’t have to be this way. But Republicans clearly want it this way. This while they control women and girls, forcing them to give birth when these proselytizing evangelical monsters could care less about a child once it is born—especially if isn’t white or male.

Funny how school shooters brandishing weapons meant for war all tend to be white and male. And Republican. Or if they’re not old enough to vote, their parents are. But they’re old enough to be racist and filled with seething hatred and violent tendencies.

Every single Republican gun monger is lying when they claim to care about children, and when they claim there is nothing we can do about gun violence in this country. Fact is, there is much we can do, beginning with banning assault weapons. We Democrats did it before, and gun violence lessened. Imagine that. Statistics don’t lie, but Republicans do.

You have to wonder about those with AR-15s in their homes. How many intruders do they expect to fend off at one time? Why are they so paranoid? Is it because they might be violent predators themselves? Or perhaps pathetic racist cowards who believe everyone else is out to get them and somehow threatens their perceived superiority?

The congressman currently running for reelection in the district that includes Apalachee, Georgia, has campaign signs depicting not a US flag, but an AR-15. Those signs are littering yards all throughout his district.

You can’t make this sick stuff up. But you can do something about this sickening epidemic of gun violence. Vote out every Republican in office. In every state. In every town. Only then can America have common sense gun laws and begin to take action to protect school children from selfish, sick gun mongers.
